Alice A. Langfield

December 30, 1920 - October 31, 2006

Alice A. (Harrison) Langfield., 85, of Hawthorn Street in New Bedford formerly of Marigold Ave., in Somerset passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home in New Bedford, she was the wife of the late Joseph J. Langfield. Born in Fairhaven, MA on December 30, 1920 the daughter of the late Benedict J. and Mary (Thexton) Harrison.

A graduate of Fairhaven High School class of 1937 and then worked as a bookkeeper for Langfield's Auto Electric in Fall River for thirty five years before retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of Saint Thomas More Church in Somerset and was very involved at one time with the Saint Thomas More retiree's. , secretary of the Swansea AARP, and the ladies auxiliary at the Somerset VFW Post.

Survivors are two brothers Benedict John. Harrison of Somerset, MA William Harrison of Dartmouth, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of he late Margaret Freitas, Elizabeth Moone, Mary Ryan, Theresa Duval, and Joseph Harrison.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 9am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Thomas More Church 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery Somerset. CALLING HOURS FRIDAY 3-6pm.
