Mary Louise (Shaw) Gauthier

FALL RIVER – Mary Louise (Shaw) Gauthier, 81, of Highland Ave., Fall River, died Saturday, June 21, 2008, in the Highlander Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Fall River. She was wife of the late Joseph E. Gauthier. Born in Fall River and a life long resident, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Shaw and the late Harriet L. “Hattie” (Jackson) Shaw.

A graduate with the Class of 1946 of B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River, Mrs. Gauthier worked at the former Union Hospital (now Charlton Memorial Hospital) in the nurses and doctors dining room for ten years. She was a member of the (Episcopal) Church of the Ascension in Fall River and also served as a girl scout leader for a number of years.

Mrs. Gauthier is survived by a son, David Gauthier of Nantucket; a sister, Florence Lawrence of Somerset; and three grandchildren.

Funeral Information

All services were held Tuesday, June 24, 2008, from THE HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA, with services held in the Church of the Ascension (now Church of the Holy Spirit), Rock Street, Fall River. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
