J. Barry Raskin

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook J. Barry Raskin, age 74, of West Street, Attleboro died Monday, January 30, 2006 at home after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Pamela A. (Lantz) Raskin for thirty-one years, He was born in Boston on October 3, 1931 a son of the late Louis and Tillie (Furman) Raskin.
He had lived in Attleboro for the past 30 years having grown up in Boston. He Graduated from Boston University with a B.S. Degree and had attended the University of Chicago Business School. He had served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Barry loved all kinds of music and enjoyed computer technology, he had a love of the Jewish Culture and was a WW II Historian. He was the owner of the former J.B. Raskin Co. a Speciality Food Broker for the New England Area for 25 years before he retired in 1991.
He leaves two sons Larry Berg of Chicago,IL and Stephen B. Gowen of Attleboro. One daughter Salli Berg Seeley of Evanston,IL. Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sally Ronkin and Ruth Kauffman.
Funeral Information
His Funeral will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 2 PM in the FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main St. (Route 152) in Attleboro. Burial will follow in North Purchase Cemetery, North Main St. Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours in the FOLEY CHAPEL on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 from 5 to 7 PM.
