Clement H. Nadeau

SOMERSET – Clement H. Nadeau, 88, of Lepes Road, died Sunday, September 13, 2009, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Henri & Virginie ( Lavoie) Nadeau, he was the husband of Lila (Berube) Nadeau.

Mr. Nadeau worked as an electronics inspector for the Sylvania Company, now GTE, for over twenty-two years before retiring in 1985. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving as a Corporal with the 825th Battalion, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. A Somerset resident since 1959, coming originally from Fall River, he was a parishioner of St. Louis De France Church and enjoyed carpentry and woodworking.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Jeannine Nadeau of Somerset, Paulette Gray of Little Compton, RI, Lucille Silva of Raynham, MA, and Melanie Halliwell of Westport, MA; two brothers, Leo Nadeau of Fall River and Joseph Nadeau of New Jersey; and a sister, Lydia Janis of California. He was the grandfather of eleven, the great-grandfather of three, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edeas Nadeau, Albert Nadeau, Armand Nadeau and Paul Nadeau, and the late Jeanne Bussiere.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held Friday, September 18, 2009, at 8:30AM from THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in St. Louis De France Church, 56 Buffington St., Swansea. Burial with Military Honors will follow the funeral Mass in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 17, from 5:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
