Edward W. Young Sr.

Edward W. Young, Sr., age 78, of Smith St. Norton, MA died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 surrounded by his loving family in the Ridgewood Court Nursing Home in Attleboro. He was the husband of 55 years of Amy R. (Cobb) Young. He was born in Providence, RI on February 6, 1928 a son of the late Leo and Agnes (McManus) Young.

He had lived in Norton for the Past 43 years having previously lived in Attleboro. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Norton and was an avid Fisherman and hunter and loved to tend to his vegetable garden. He had been a Truck mechanic for the former K.G. Moore Co. Now the Plainville Truck Stop for many years before retiring in 1979.

Besides his wife he leaves one son Edward W. Young, Jr. of Norton and five daughters Deborah A. Vieira of Norton, Patricia J. Heaney of Attleboro, Louise A. Poulin of Norton, Donna J. Deslauriers of Attleboro and Nancy M. Ballew of Springfield, VA. Two brothers Eugene and Leo M. Young both of Rehoboth, MA. Thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur, Raymond and Donald and Richard Young, Pearl Meier and Dorothy Andrade.

Funeral Information

His Funeral will be held on Friday at 8:30 AM from THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main St. (Route 152) in Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, 133 North Worcester St. in Norton. Burial will be Private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours in THE FOLEY CHAPEL on Thursday 5 to 8 PM.
