View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SWANSEA – Ruth (Shaker) Gabbour, of Gardners Neck Road in Swansea, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Bshara and Salimy Shaker, she was the wife of the late George Gabbour.
Mrs. Gabbour spent her life raising her family. She was a member of Saint Anthony of the Desert Church in Fall River, and the Desert Club. In addition, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Gabbour-Carreiro and Cheryl Conroy, both of Swansea, and Sheila Brisbon of Little Compton, RI; two sisters, Marion Shaker of Fall River, and Emily Joseph of Swansea; a brother, Nasib Shaker of Swansea; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Brisbon, Jonathan and Christopher Carreiro, Christine and William Conroy; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anne Kalil, Jennie Shea, George, Joseph, and Michael Shaker.
Funeral Information
A Funeral Mass of the Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at 10:00AM in Saint Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. CALLING HOURS will be held in the CHURCH prior to the Funeral Mass from 9:00-10:00AM.
