View Tribute and Sign Guestbook LAKEVILLE – James H. Casey, III, 67, of Lincoln St., Lakeville, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at home. Born in Fall River, a son of the late James H., Jr., & Isabel (Dunse) Casey, he was the husband of Vivian (Lyonnais) Casey.
Mr. Casey was employed as a designer for several engineering companies for over thirty years before retiring three years ago. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and also the U. S. Army, serving as a Staff Sergeant, spending nineteen years total in the service of his country. He was a Lakeville resident for sixteen years, after relocating from New Bedford.
Mr. Casey enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader, and was also a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, James H. Casey, IV, of East Taunton, MA; a stepson, Jason McCarthy of Acushnet; a daughter, Stephanie Savoy and her husband Glenn of West Bridgewater, MA; and a brother, Alan Casey of Fall River. He was the grandfather of James H. Casey, V, Sean Casey, Sarah Savoy, and Steven Savoy. He also leaves two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral Information
His funeral will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 9:00am from THE HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in the Cathedral Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, 327 Second Street, Fall River. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 6, from 5:00 – 8:00pm in the funeral home.
