L. May (Dawson) Joseph, 77, of Winsagansett Avenue in Fairhaven passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edmund J. Joseph. Born in New Bedford, MA on December 17, 1928 the daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Boucher) Dawson. Mrs. Joseph starting work at Mutter Pearls in New Bedford and eventually she and her late husband were the former owners of the Pocasset Auto Parts and Eddies Auto Parts. She enjoyed taking rides in her van with family and friends and most importantly spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoying crossword puzzles, reading books, and camping at Ellis Haven in Plymouth.

Survivors are three daughters Kristine A. Francis and her husband Eddie of Marion Elaine H. Eldridge and her husband Billy of Acushnet Julianne Joseph and her Fiancé` Anthony Ramous of Fairhaven, two sons Brian Joseph and his companion Penny Raimondo of Dartmouth David Joseph and his wife Marcia of Fairhaven a sister Loretta Farin of Dartmouth, MA a brother Ronald Dawson of Fairhaven ten grandchildren also sister in laws Elaine King of Los Angeles Tina Dawson of Westport and her brother in law Tony Jordan of Dartmouth. She was the sister of the late Rita Jordan and Raymond, Walter, and Edward Dawson.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 9am in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven, MA Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Calling Hours are Friday, May 26, 2006 from 4-7pm in the funeral home.
