Joseph Rezendes

Joseph Rezendes, 89, passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Helen Souza Rezendes of 37 Charity Stevens Lane, Fairhaven .
Born in Fairhaven the son of Manuel C. and Anna S. Rezendes, as a child he lived in St. George in the Azores.
Mr. Rezendes was owner of a carpenter and building business for 32 years. He attended the Massachusetts Military Academy as a Staff Sergeant with the Massachusetts State Guard Headquarters. He was a security guard with the Fairhaven School Department for two years and a security patrol officer for four years when he retired.
Mr. Rezendes was a United States Navy World War II Veteran, a member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Massachusetts Chief of Police Association.
He is survived by two children, Joseph M. Rezendes of Fairhaven and Joyce Blank of Tucson, AZ; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
