Mary S.P. Nunes

Mary S.P. (Sylvia) Nunes, 71, died unexpectedly Friday, October 7, 2005 in her home. She was the wife of Jose I. Nunes.

Born September 18, 1934 in Fairhaven, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Sylvia, she lived there until moving to Freetown 30 years ago. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, New Bedford.

Mrs. Nunes retired from the golf ball division of Titleist. She enjoyed being with her family.

She is survived by her widower; two sons, Jon Perry of Texas and Walter Perry of Ohio; two brothers, Gilbert Sylvia of California and Leo Sylvia of Fairhaven; four sisters, Felicia Medeiros of Wareham, Irene Portas of Charlotte, NC, Bena Haaland of Fairhaven, and Florence Alexander of Acushnet; many grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 10:00 AM in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. Cremation will follow. Interment will be private. Calling hours are Monday, October 10, 2005 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
