View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Harold W. Ratcliffe, 85, of New Bedford died Monday, October 3, 2005 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy J. (Hildenbrand) Ratcliffe.
Born April 27, 1920 in New Bedford the son of the late Albert and Emma (Woodcock) Ratcliffe he was a life long resident of the city. He was a member of the South Baptist Church where he was in the choir for 50 years and also was on the Board of Trustee’s.
Mr. Ratcliffe graduated from New Bedford High School in 1938. He later served during World War II in the Marine Corp. Mr. Ratcliffe worked as a thread grinder at Morse Twist Drill for 40 years before retiring in 1980. He enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by his widow and several cousins.
Funeral Information
His graveside service will be Friday, October 14, 2005 at 1:00 PM in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford. Arrangements are by the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford.
