Mary "Carmen" B. Carvalho

Mary "Carmen" B. (Borges) Carvalho, 86, of New Hampshire Avenue, in Somerset passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Manuel “Mac” T. Carvalho. Born in Fall River, MA on January 26, 1919 the daughter of the late Manuel and Jesuina (Moniz) Borges.

Mrs. Carvalho worked for the former Lamport manufacturing Company in Fall River as a bundler for thirty years, and then went on to work for Standard Linen for several years before retiring in 1981. She was a former communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Somerset.

Survivors are a daughter Madeline L. Pacheco and a son Stephen K. Carvalho both of Swansea, MA three grandchildren, Aaron Pacheco, Marc and Douglas Carvalho. Six great grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Sara, Gray, Forrest and Julia. Several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria B. Tavares Maria Marques, Steven, Manuel, and Joseph Borges.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2005 at 9:30am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Louis de France Church 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Fall River. Calling hours with video photo album are Saturday, October 8, 2005 from 8am to 9:30am.
