Stefhainia "Stella" I. (Pieknik) Enos, 90, died Sunday, October 2, 2005 in the Nichols House Nursing Home. She was the widow of Thomas Enos. Born May 8, 1915 in Fall River the daughter of the late Sylvester and Anna (Michalszyn) Pieknick, she lived most of her life in New Bedford on Summer Street. She was a life long communicant of Holy Name Church where she was known for the sewing she did for Father John Murphy and Father John Perry as well as sewing the alter piece and table clothes for the church. She worked many years stitching at Grinnell Pajamas and Cape Cod Sport Wear. She was a member of the Daughter’s of Isabella and very proud of her Polish heritage. She was active in the Polish American Organization. She belonged to the Kolko Polik Club, the Happy Group-Raising of the Flag. Mrs. Enos was the past president and treasurer of PNA Lodge 2715. At Easter, she would go to Pulaski School to help show children how to paint eggs. She loved working outside taking pride in her yard and enjoyed the fall season raking leaves. She is survived by a brother, Walter J. Piknick and his wife Cindy of Hyannis; a niece and guardian, Donna Jennings and her husband Edward of Fairhaven. She was the sister of the late Frank and Benjamin and Adela Reindeau Lewis and Wanda Norsworthy and two nephews and three nieces as well as many grand nieces and nephews. Funeral InformationHer funeral will be Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at 9:00 AM from the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, New Bedford. Interment will be in Sacred Heart #2 Cemetery, New Bedford. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 4, 2005 from 5-8 PM. |
