November 21, 1916 - September 23, 2005

Camille J. Gauvin, Jr. age 88 of Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI  formerly of Woonsocket died Friday, September 23, 2005 in the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the  husband of the late  Rose  (Connolly) Gauvin. He was born in Haverhill, MA on November 21, 1916 a son of the late Camille J. Gauvin,Sr. and Malvina (Hamelin) Gauvin.

He had lived in Woonsocket since 1946 having grown up in Haverhill. He was  an Army Veteran of WW II. He was a manager and baker for the former Donut Kettle of Woonsocket from 1947 to 1957 and later was a  chef at the Union News restaurant at the Providence Train Station from 1957 to 1967. He also worked as a machine operator for the former Ocean State Finishing Co. of Woonsocket for several years before retiring in 1980. He was a communicant of the Precious Blood Church in Woonsocket.

He leaves  three sons  Roland C. Gauvin of Cumberland, Normand L. Gauvin of North Smithfield and  Dennis P. Gauvin of  Riverside, RI. Two sisters Jeannette Perreault and Pauline Kelly both of Haverhill, MA. Two grandchildren and three great grand children and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jospeh, Leon, Ernest, Philip and Roland Gauvin and Irene Nolin.

Funeral Information

His Funeral will be held on  Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 9 AM from The Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Avenue, Woonsocket followed  by a Mass of  Christian  Buria at  10 AM  in Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Avenue.  Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA. Calling Hours are Tuesday, September 27, 2005 from 4 to 8 PM.
