Sheila Ann Isherwood

January 21, 1937 - September 20, 2005

Sheila Ann (Collins) Isherwood, 68, of Dartmouth died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of John H. Isherwood, Jr.

Born January 21, 1937 in New Bedford the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Wynn) Collins, she grew up in New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth 46 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth.

Mrs. Isherwood graduated from New Bedford High School. She worked 33 years as a secretary for the Sociology and Anthropology Departments at U Mass of Dartmouth. She retired three years ago. She enjoyed dancing.

She is survived by a son, John H. Isherwood, III and his companion Donna Luiz of North Dartmouth; two daughters, Nancy Murphy and her husband Tom of South Dartmouth and Susan Isherwood of North Dartmouth; and two grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be Friday, September 23, 2005 at 9:00 AM from the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Bedford. Calling hours are Thursday, September 22, 2005 from 5-8 PM.
