View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Loretta (Bourbeau) Alfonso, 96, of Fairhaven died Tuesday, August 23, 2005 in Alden Court Nursing Home. She was the widow of Manuel Alfonso.
Born October 31, 1908, in New Bedford the daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Boucher) Bourbeau, she lived in the city until 1973 when she moved to Fairhaven. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven.
Mrs. Alfonso worked as a tester for Cornell-Dubilier. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Alfonse and his wife Christine of Fairhaven; two daughters, Dorothy Pinto and her husband Peter of Fairhaven and Alice Sylvia and her husband Frank of South Dartmouth; a former daughter-in-law, Carmen Alfonse of New Bedford; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Archie and Adrien Bourbeau.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 9:00 AM from the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven followed by a Mass of a Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will be in Sacred Heart #2 Cemetery, New Bedford. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 24, 2005 from 5-8 PM.
