View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Alfred Barlow, 65, of Longhill Ave., Somerset, died Friday, August 12, 2005 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of 31 years of Patricia (DeVido) Barlow.
Born on July 26, 1940, in Fall River, he was a son of the late Alfred and Frances (Horsefield) Barlow. He was a resident of Somerset for over 35 years, coming from Fall River.
Mr. Barlow was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1964 to 1969.
He worked as a planner for the GTE Corp. in Taunton for 19 years, and also as an electrical repair technician for Raytheon Company in Dighton for 9 years. Mr. Barlow also worked for Mahr Federal Products in Providence, RI., for several years, before his retirement four years ago.
Mr. Barlow was a former member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks. He was an avid pool player. He enjoyed vacationing in Lake George, NY, area and also traveled throughout the United States. He was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed many activities with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Barlow, of Somerset, three sisters, Elsie Almy, of Tiverton, RI., Frances Dailey, of Westport, and Pauline Monast, of Somerset. He was the brother of the late Thelma Gauthier, and the late Joan Hammond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral service Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 9:00 am in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, County St., Somerset. Calling hours are Monday, August 15, 2005 from 5-8 PM.
