Marie L. Vogler

July 16, 1921 - July 27, 2005

Marie L. (Almeida) Vogler., 84, of Oak Street in Swansea passed away on July 27, 2005 at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center in Fall River, after a year long battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Vogler. Born in Fall River, MA on July 16, 1921 the daughter of the late Manuel P. and Florence M. (Powell) Almeida.

She grew up in Fall River and later with her family moved to Swansea, where she lived for forty years. She was a long time member of the former Saint James Episcopal Church and later the Church of the Ascension in Fall River.

Mrs. Vogler worked behind the counter at Steve’s Donut Shop in Somerset and later the electronics assembly worker at Litton industries in Fall River. Her family, church, and home were always the center of her life for the oldest in a family of seven children.

Survivors are two sons Wayne C. Vogler of Westport, MA Mark E. Vogler of Methuen, MA a sister Linda McKown of Yukon, OK a brother Kenneth C. Almeida of Rehoboth, MA a grandson Tommy Mogilnicki of Westport, MA and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Lance A. Vogler sister of the late Shirley Almeida Presten and Beverly Almeida Joseph P. Almeida, Albert J. Almeida.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 9am in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, with a requiem Eucharist at 10am in Christ Church 57 Main St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, July 29, 2005 - with a video photo album - from 4-7pm.
