View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Ronald R. Beland, Sr., 70, of Beland Ave., South Attleboro, died Monday, July 25, 2005 at home. He was the husband of Jeannine (LaPorte) Beland. They were married for 49 years. Born on December 8, 1934, in Central Falls, RI, he was a son of the late Alexander and Ella (Myette) Beland. He resided in South Attleboro for most of his life.
Mr. Beland was the owner and operator of the Duracast Concrete Products Company in Rehoboth for several years. He also worked as a self-employed heavy construction equipment operator in the Attleboro area for many years.
Mr. Beland was an avid horse enthusiast. He enjoyed gardening. He liked to go salt-water fishing and boating in the Ocean Grove area near Swansea, and around Narragansett Bay. He took pride in his woodworking, creating home furnishings for family and friends.
He was a communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church in South Attleboro.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Ronald R. Beland, Jr. and his wife, Candace, of Attleboro, Daniel Beland, and his wife, Luanne, of Swansea, Ernest Beland, of Pawtucket, and Kevin Beland of Pawtucket. Two daughters, Rosemarie Pederson, and her husband, Brian, of South Attleboro, and Lynn Pelkey, of Attleboro. Twenty-two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Blanche Bertrand, of Lakeville, Anita Hebert of South Attleboro, and the late Edmund Beland.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 9:00 am from the FOLEY CHAPEL of the Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Homes, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, Rte. 152, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 18 Baltic Ave. South Attleboro with the Rev. James Fahey, Pastor, celebrating.
Calling hours are Wednesday, July 27, 2005 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 pm in the FOLEY CHAPEL of the Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Homes, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, Rte. 152, (508) 222-0498. Following committal services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshment.
