Richard C. York

Richard C York, of Taunton formerly of Brockton, died on June 17, 2005 in Life Care Center of Raynham, following a period of failing health.

Born in Watertown, a son of the late Charles and Ruth (Simpson) York. Mr. York was graduate of Watertown High School. He then attended Bentley College, Bryant & Stratton College, Newbury Jr.College and Massasoit Comm. College.  

He was employed for over 25 years as a accountant for Stone and Websger Engineering Co. in Boston.  A U.S. Army veteran - he served as a Crypotgraphic Specialits during the Korean Conflict.  

Mr. York attended Holy Family Church in East Taunton. He was a member of the American Legion in Holbrook, VFW in Taunton, a Morton Hospital Volunteer, and a member of the Boston Braves Historical Society.

He was the husband of Phyllis (Dugay) York. He was the father of Susan York of East Taunton, Jeanne Solaas of FL, Thomas York of North Easton, Christopher York of Springfield and Richard York of Malden; grandfather of 4 and brother of John York of ME; Marjorie Parker of Quincy; Lois Smith of Waltham; Dorothy Hansen of SC Judith Waters of Ga and the late Phyllis York.

Funeral Information

There will be a Funeral Mass on June 22, 2005 in Holy Family Church East Taunton at 10AM.  Interment  will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton, MA.
