Alyce M. ( Castelejo) Carvalho, 61, of Forestdale Drive Somerset, died Wednesday at Brigham & Women’s Hospital Boston.

She was the companion for over the last 20 years of Philippe Desruisseaux.
She was born January 15, 1944 in New Bedford MA, a daughter of the late Joseph & Gloria ( Mello) Castelejo .

She was a homemaker. She has lived in Somerset for 34 years coming from Fall River, she attended St. Louis de France church, she was involved in the PTO at Chace street school when her children were there. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and she loved to cook, and make arts & crafts.

Besides her companion Philippe Desruisseaux, she is survived by 2 sons Christopher Carvalho of Somerset, Jamison Carvalho of Houston Texas, 2 step-daughters Deborah Desruisseaux of North Providence, RI, Dawn Edmondson of Barrington, RI, 2 sisters Theresa Novak, of Fairhaven, Barbara Mello of Acushnet, 3 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph Castelejo Jr, and also the late Lillian Cobb.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Monday, Monday, June 20, 2005 at 8:30am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St Louis de France Church , 56 Buffington St Swansea, burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery Somerset. Calling hours are Sunday from 4 -8 pm.
