Irene I. Parent

Irene I. (Barthelemi) Parent  age 101 formerly of  Park  Avenue, Woonsocket died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 in the Woonsocket Health Care Center. She was the  wife of the late Rene E. Parent,Sr. She was  born in Woonsocket on April 19, 1904 a daughter of the late Isodore and  Carmella  (Tessier) Barthelemi.

She was a life long resident of Woonsocket and a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. With her late husband she had owned and operated the former Twinkle Diner from 1943 to 1947 and later the former Beau-May diner from1947 to 1953 both in Woonsocket.  She later worked  as a sales  lady for the former McCarthy’s Dry Goods Store  until retiring  in  1963.  

She leaves  three sons Rene E. Parent,Jr. of Blackstone, MA  Richard A. Parent of Woonsocket and  Gerald  Parent  of  Sutton, MA. Six grandchildren and six great grand children  and  several  nieces and nephews. She was  the  sister  of the late  Eva  Comeau and Loretta Gelinas.

Donations Information

Her  Funeral  will be held on Monday, June13, 2005 at 9 AM from THE MENARD  FUNERAL  HOME, 127 Carrington  Avenue, Woonsocket  followed  by a Mass of  Christian Burial  at  10 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 149  Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in the Family Lot in  Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Calling hours are Sunday, June 12, 2005 from  4 to 8 PM.
