William Francis Henry, 66 years of Dighton died on May 27, 2005 in Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton.  He was born in NYC, a son of the late James and Mary (Hoyle) Henry.  

He retired in June of 2000 as the Director of Guidance of Dighton – Rehoboth High School.  He educated in Cardinal Hayes High School, NYC; Iona College, Fordham Univ; Seton Hall Univ; Boston College; Laval Univ. in Canada’ Institue Catholique in Paris; Catholic Univ; Georgetown Univ; and SMU in Dathmouth,MA.

He was a former Irish Christian Brother and prior to D-R he was the headmaster at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury,MA.  He was a certified school psychologist.  He was a resident of Stoughton and Dighton for over 25 years.  He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church in Dighton where he was a lector.  He was President of Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Dighton and Rehoboth and also President of Poppasquash Community Club of Dighton. He summered in Ocean City, NJ, enjoying swimming, walking and the casinos in Atlantic City.  He traveled to Ireland, County Sligo the home of his father.

He is survived by his sister, Gerri Brooks of Dighton and brother, James Henry of Norton and was  the brother of the late Joseph Henry; he is also survived by sisters-in-law Joan and Ursula Henry, nieces and nephews Jeannine Manning, Ariane, Erin, and Shannon Henry and James, Christopher , and Keith Brooks.

Funeral Information

A Funeral Mass will be held in St Peter’s Church Dighton on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9AM. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 1, 2005 from 4-8PM at Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave.,(Route 138 South) Taunton.
