Fernando da Silva 79, of Mitchell Drive, formerly of Fourth Street Fall River, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at St. Anne’s Hospital. He was the husband of Lorraine ( Baldwin ) da Silva, and also the husband of the late Medora ( Levesque) da Silva.
He was born on March 26, 1926 in Fall River a son of the late Antonio & Maria da Gloria( Miguel) da Silva.

He was a baker for 30 years for the Ann – Dale Bakery of Fall River, then was a maintenance worker for Reflex company for 10 years before retiring 14 years ago.
He has been a Fall River resident all of his life, he was a former parishioner of Santo Christo Church, St Anne Church, Sts Peter & Paul Church. He enjoyed woodworking, cars, photography, and music. HeLoved spending time with family. He was a member of the American Red Cross " Gallon Club".

Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter Roberta McMillan of Somerset a stepson Kenneth Baldwin of Westport, a brother Antone Silva of Swansea, 3 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank Silva, Joseph Silva, Edward Silva, and also the late Mary da Costa.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 8:30am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St Peter Church , Main St., Dighton, burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Fall River. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 17, 2005 from 5 – 8 pm.
