John Sacchetti

March 25, 1921 - May 04, 2005

John Sacchetti age 84 of Mulberry St. Attleboro, died Wednesday at home. He was the former husband of Erna (Stiegler) Sacchetti of Cumberland, RI.
Born on March 25, 1921, in Providence, RI., he was a son of the late Pietro and Josephine (DeFilippo) Sacchetti. He grew up in Pawtucket and was a resident of Attleboro for over 60 years.

He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Sacchetti served in the U.S Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He worked for Attleboro Refining Company as a chemist and executive for 23 years, and as a self-employed chemist and metallurgist for many years. He was a former member of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro. He was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years. He was an avid chess player.

He is survived by a son, Peter J. Sacchetti, of Attleboro, a daughter, Gloria Gwiazdowski of Worcester, three grandchildren, Dr. Peter J. Sacchetti, MD, of Newburyport, MA., Julianna Sacchetti, of Wellesley, and David Gwiazdowski, of New York City, NY, a brother Richard Sacchetti, of North Providence, three sisters, Mary Wagner, of Lincoln, RI., Rose Martinelli, of Pawtucket, Lena Trudeau, of Cumberland. He was the brother of the late Ann Wilcox. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Funeral services and burial will be private. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, May 7, 2005 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the FOLEY CHAPEL of the, FOLEY-COOK-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOMES, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA (Rte. 152)
