Rev. Samuel P. Reinke

Rev. Samuel P. Reinke, 94, of Winwood Dr. Tiverton, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Home in Fall River. He was the husband of the late Wilma (Gardner) Reinke.
Born on July 23, 1910, in York, Penn., he was the son of the late Rev. Theodore and Gertrude (Small) Reinke.

Rev. Reinke received a Bachelors in Divinity from Moravian College and Seminary in Bethlehem, Penn., and a Masters in Theology from the Andover-Newton Theological Seminary in Newton, MA.

Rev. Reinke was the sixth generation of his family to be an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. In his work as a minister, Rev. Reinke served at many Congregational Churches in Ohio, New York, Minnesota, Florida, and Massachusetts. Together with his late wife, Rev. Reinke founded the Universal Listening Post, initially based in New York, the organization is now based in Colorado.

He enjoyed gardening and reading, and was a published author in the area of religious and theological studies. Rev. Reinke also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and many foreign countries.

Survivors include three sons, John M. Reinke, of Redmond, Washington, Donald S. Reinke, of Tacoma, Washington, and Rev. David H. Reinke, of Tiverton. Nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of James E. Reinke, of Harrisburg, PA, and Paul K. Reinke, of West Medford, NJ. , and the late Theodore and George Reinke.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 11:00 am in the Fall River Unitarian Society, 309 North Main St., Fall River, MA. Arrangements are by the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA
