Louise "Vancy" Darling

Louise “Vancy” (Vancey) Darling., 94, of Wilson Road, Fall River passed on Wednesday April 6, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River she was the wife of the late Wylder F. Darling.

Born in Touisset, MA on December 7, 1910 the daughter of the late William A. and Ellen (Watson) Vance, she was a graduate of Warren High School class of 1927 and then entered the Truesdale Hospital Nursing School in Fall River in which she graduated from in 1931.  After graduation she worked as a registered nurse at the former Truesdale Hospital for forty four years before retiring in1975.

Mrs. Darling was a member and secretary of the Truesdale Alumni Association for years , also a past chairman of the membership committee and former board member.
Survivors are a daughter Mary E. Hickey of Fall River, MA two grandchildren Michael & Paul and four great grandchildren Michael Jr., Amy, Timothy, and Christopher, also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth and Albert Vance.

Funeral Information

Mrs. Darling's funeral service will be held on Saturday, April9, 2005 at 10am in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery Fall River. Calling hours with a video photo album will be Saturday morning from 9-10am.
