Henry "Whitey" Vachon

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Henry R. “Whitey” Vachon, 79, of Matthew Rd., Tiverton, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Agnes C. (Flynn) Vachon. They were married for 48 years.
Born on March 7, 1926, in Fall River, he was a son of the late Alphonse and Victorine (Brodeur) Vachon. He was a resident of Tiverton for over 43 years, coming from Fall River.
Mr. Vachon was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.
He worked for J & J Corrugated Box Company in Fall River for over 46 years.
He was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton.
Mr. Vachon was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Tiverton Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox. He enjoyed bowling with several leagues in the area. He enjoyed spending time at Baker’s Beach. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife and family, traveling throughout the United States and other countries.
Survivors include a son, Robert H. Vachon, and his wife, Janet, of Westport, two granddaughters, Nicole A., and Andrea H. Vachon, both of Westport. Also Several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Pauline Cook of Fall River, and the late Jeanne Mokas.
Funeral Information
Calling hours Sunday, 2:00-6:00 PM. His funeral will be Monday at 9:00 am from the Hebert-Hathaway Funeral Home, 945 S. Main St., Fall River, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Ghost Church, Judson St., Tiverton. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
