View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER – Eleanor M. (Pye) Abreu, 50, of Acushnet, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Michael M. Abreu, with whom she shared a thirty year marriage. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Theresa (Williams) Pye of Fairhaven and the late Joseph Pye, she settled in Acushnet twenty years ago.
Eleanor was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven. She was the activities director at Cape Way Adult Day Health Center in New Bedford until her illness. She was devoted to her children and family.
In addition to her husband and her mother, Eleanor is survived by her father-in-law, Antone Abreu; two sons, Joshua M. Abreu and his companion Cindy Champagne and Mathieu J. Abreu; a daughter, Alison M. Abreu; two brothers, Arthur Pye and his wife Jenny and William Pye; a sister, Carol Perry and her husband Joe; a grandson, Jonah M. Abreu; an uncle, Robert Williams and his wife Mary; a godchild, Crystal Louro; and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was the daughter-in-law of the late Laura Abreu.
Funeral Information
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and a Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 10:00AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven. Relatives and friends are invited to attend by reporting directly to the Church. Interment will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements are by THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven.
