Gabriel Jansen

FAIRHAVEN – Gabriel Jansen, 89, of Cottage St., Fairhaven, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. Born in Kopervik, Norway, a son of the late Gabriel & Sofie Jansen, he was the husband of the late Dorothy L . (Mountain) Jansen.

Mr. Jansen was a fisherman and a Norwegian Merchant Marine for many years. A resident of Fairhaven since the 1970’s, coming from Point Pleasant, New Jersey, he had attended Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a son, John Jansen of Austin, Texas; and a daughter, Janet Pilot of Bricktown, New Jersey. He was the grandfather of Tina Pilot, Lisa Dunfee, and the great-grandfather of David Dunfee and Paige Dunfee.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 29, 2009, at 2:00PM in THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
