Helena (Desmarais) Forcier

SWANSEA, MA – Helena (Desmarais) Forcier, 101, of Swansea, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Napolean and Emelda (St. Germain) Desmarais, she was the wife of the late Leo P. Forcier.

Mrs. Forcier devoted her life to raising her family. She enjoyed the time she has spent with family and friends over the years. Helena was a former communicant of Saint Mathieu Church. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and knitting.

She is survived by her four daughters, Doris Powers of Tiverton, RI, Claire Gagnon of Somerset, MA, Annette Fino of Winter Springs, FL, and Claudette Santos of Swansea; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 10:00am from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Saint Dominic’s Church, 1277 GAR Hwy., Swansea, with entombment to follow in the Mausoleum in Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 10, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the funeral home.
