George A. Gaudreau

MASHPEE, MA – George A. Gaudreau, 84, of Quail Hollow Road, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the V.A. Medical Center in Providence, RI. He was the husband of the late Louise M. (Dupont) Gaudreau. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Alfred G. and Alma (LeBlanc) Gaudreau and brother of the late Paul Gaudreau.

Mr. Gaudreau was a steamfitter and sixty-one year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters UA Local 77, New Bedford, MA, and Local 51, Providence, RI, retiring in 1985. A World War II Navy Veteran, he served aboard the U.S.S. Orion AS-18. He was a member and past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 7, New Bedford, and the American Legion Post # 303, Swansea, MA.

He leaves two sons, Michael T. Gaudreau, Sr., and his wife Sandra of Fairhaven, MA and Thomas M. Gaudreau and his wife Kathryn of New Bedford; one daughter, Katherine V. Cambra and her husband J. Scott of Mashpee, MA; one brother, Roger Gaudreau and his wife Pauline of New Bedford; two sisters, Gloria Levesque and her husband Maurice and Joanne Zuckerman and her husband Marvin, both of Florida; six grandchildren, Michael T. Gaudreau, Jr., and his wife Kristi of Valparaiso, IN, Andrew P. Gaudreau of Las Vegas, NV, Bradley B. Gaudreau of Indiana, PA, Anthony J. Cambra, and Julie A. Cambra, both of Mashpee, MA, and Christian Gaudreau of New Bedford; and one great-grandson, Michael T. Gaudreau, III.

Funeral Information

Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 10, 2008, from 3:00-7:00PM in THE DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts. Burial will take place at a later date at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
