View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SOMERSET, MA – Sylvia C. (Correira) Kress, 71, of Somerset, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura (Medeiros) Correira, she was the wife of Robert J. Kress, Jr., with whom she shared fifty-five years of marriage.
Mrs. Kress worked as a clerk for various department stores and also as a CNA at the former Lakeville State Hospital. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kress leaves two daughters, Cindy Coates and her husband Brad of Somerset and Roberta Kaszyk and her fiancé Kenneth of Warren, RI; a son, Robert Kress, III, and his wife Patricia of Berkley, MA; a brother, Gerald Correira of Somerset; six loving grandchildren, Christopher, Pamela, Meghan, Nicholas, Jacob, and Logan; and four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ronald Correira.
Funeral Information
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 4:00-7:00PM in the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
