John A. Oliveira

John A. Oliveira, 76 of Swansea, MA passed away Sunday surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Judith C. (Amaral) Oliveira.
Born in Sao Antone, a son of the late Jancinto Oliveira and the late Ana (Andrade) Oliveira, he emigrated at the age of 18. John worked as a foreman for the D’Ambra Construction company and then 31 years ago founded the Cornerstone Bakery and Restaurant in Swansea.
A caring, devoted and loving husband, father, brother and friend; he was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart, and who was a member and usher at the Faith Christian Center in Seekonk.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin Oliveira of Taunton, and Steven Oliveira of Swansea; two daughters, Judy McIntosh of Swansea and Lori Oliveira of Seekonk; five brothers, Jose Oliveira, Frank Oliveira and Antone Oliveira all of Somerset, Arnold Oliveira of Dighton and Dennis Oliveira of Cape Coral, FL; a sister, Filomena De Oliveira of New Bedford; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and newphews.
He was also father of the late John Oliveira, Jr.; and brother of the late Jacinto Oliveira and the late Alfonso Oliveira.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 AM from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset with a 10 AM funeral service in the Faith Christian Center, 95 Sagamore Road, Seekonk, MA 02771. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours Thursday, 5-8 PM.
