TAUNTON – Douglas N. Estabrook, 83, died in Morton Hospital in Taunton on Thursday, October 18, 2007. Born in Taunton, the son of the late Lorne and Carrie (Hicks) Estabrook, he was the husband the late Gladys (Leman) Estabrook, who died in 1979, to whom he was married for more than thirty-six years. Mr. Estabrook graduated with the Class of 1942 of Taunton High School. He worked for Plymouth Rubber in Canton for more than twenty-eight years, after which, in retirement, he worked for the H & L Bloom Bus Lines Co. as a van driver. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War Conflict, serving as a Machinist Mate Second Class. He loved taking trips to Foxwoods, scratch tickets, the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and NASCAR. Mr. Estabrook was a member of the East Taunton Social Club. He loved watching TV with his favorites shows being Let’s Make a Deal, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and especially watching all the “Judges” shows. He enjoyed animals and always had a cookie jar in his car to feed them. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Perry and her husband Charles of East Taunton; his sons, Douglas Estabrook, Jr., and his wife Carol of Taunton, and Scott Estabrook and his wife Florence of Taunton; his grandchildren, Susan, Debre, Cheryl and Keri; and his great-grandchildren, Austin, Matthew, Cameron, Kayley and Megan. He was the brother of Eleanor Morrisey of Raynham and the late Lois Praino and Donald Estabrook. Donations Information
