View Tribute and Sign Guestbook REHOBOTH – Florence (LaVigne) Harris, 90, of Fairview Avenue, Rehoboth, died Monday, August 4, 2008, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Born in Central Falls, RI, a daughter of the late Joseph & Rosa (Senecal) LaVigne, she was the wife of the late Raymond J. Harris.
Mrs. Harris was a jewelry assembler for the Balfour Company for many years before retiring in 1984. A lifelong resident of Reheboth, she was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Seekonk. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Rehoboth, the Council on Aging, the Prayer Group at St. Mary’s Church and a member of the Moose Club. She enjoyed knitting, was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Harris is survived by a daughter, Rhea Bilsborough of Attleboro; two sisters Mary Johnson of Pawtucket RI, Ethel Johnson of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Mary Florence Gilliam and Rita Alice Roderick. She was the sister of the late Archie LaVigne, George LaVigne, and Arthur LaVigne.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 8:30AM from the FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 S. Main St., Attleboro, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, Coyle Drive, Seekonk, with burial to follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 6, from 4:00–7:00PM.
