View Tribute and Sign Guestbook BERKLEY – Tedfield J. "Ted" “Major” Majcher, 88, died in the Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT on Thursday, May 29, 2008, following a period of failing health. Born in Taunton, the son of the late Antonio and Tekla (Rowal) Majcher, he was the husband of the late Laura (Wood) Majcher.
Educated in the Taunton school system, Mr. Majcher had been a resident of Berkley since 1945, when he and his late wife married. He was a retired custodian at the Berkley Middle School and a retired custodian at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Taunton and at the former Golden Pheasant in Berkley.
Mr. Majcher was an avid fan of the Red Sox, the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. He was a former member of Holy Rosary Church in Taunton.
He is survived by his daughter Donna DiStefano and her husband John of Killingsworth, CT, with whom he had lived for the past two years; and a son, Brian Majcher of Berkley. He was the father of the late Diane Sanson and her husband, the late August “Gus” Sanson. He was the grandfather of Christopher and Daryl DiStefano of Connecticut. He was the brother of Frank Majcher of Raynham and the Veronica McCown of California; and the late Agnes Cunniff, Walter Majcher, Bridget Majcher, Stanley Majcher and Louis Majcher. He was the brother-in-law of Doris Reed of Berkley and the uncle of several.
Funeral Information
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be held in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at 12:00Noon. A visiting hour will be Wednesday from 11:00 to Noon. Interment will follow the funeral in the Assonet Burying Ground.
