CUMBERLAND – Blanche E. Oliver, aged 91, formerly of Flat Street, Cumberland, died on Monday, January 7, 2008, after a long illness in the Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Omer and Alice (St. Laurent) Petrin, she was the wife of the late Thomas D. Oliver, Sr.

A long time resident of Woonsocket and Cumberland, Mrs. Oliver was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Cumberland. She will always be remembered as a devoted mother, wife and homemaker.

Mrs. Oliver leaves one son, Thomas D. Oliver, Jr., and his wife Carol C. Oliver of Oakland, RI; two sisters, Eva Couture of North Smithfield and Agnus Rivard of Blackstone, MA; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Albert, Leo and Omer Petrin, Rose Tellier, Celia Valliere, Lillian Boisey, Cecile Ayotte and Jean Shea.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 9:00AM from THE MENARD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Carrington Avenue, Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held in the MENARD HOME on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
