Joseph P. "Phil" Bailey  age  84  formerly of East Washington St. North Attleboro died Monday, March 6, 2006 in the Ridgewood Court  Nursing Home  in Attleboro. He was  the  husband of the late  Margaret R. (Duphily) Bailey. He  was born in the Village of Albion in Lincoln, RI on February 2, 1922 a son of the late  George and  Claudia  (Boudreau) Bailey.

He had  lived in North  Attleboro for  the  past  20 years and prior to that 30 years in South Attleboro. He was a lifetime member of the Am Vets and had served in  the  Army as an Airplane Armarer for 35 months in England during WW II. Mr. Bailey had been a cabinet maker for the former L. Vaughn Company of Providence and later was a  Maintenance Mechanic for the former Ward Baking Co. of Providence  for several years before retiring in 1980. He was an avid fisherman and loved to out on the ocean and loved to go camping with his late wife and they both loved to shop  at Flea markets and go to Auctions. He had built his own boat and maintained many boats over the years. He loved his cat Miki.

He leaves  three sons Robert  P. Bailey  of Pawtucket, Paul H. Bailey of North Smithfield and George L. Bailey  of  North  Attleboro. Two daughters  Suzanne M. Dussault  of Cumberland, RI and Janine A. Viveiros  of  Attleboro.  One Brother  J. Leo Bailey  of Concord,California and one sister  Theresa  Horne of  Central Falls, RI.  Ten grandchildren and  eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was  the  father of the late  Maurice E. Bailey.

Funeral Information

Calling  hours and flowers  are respectfully  omitted.  His Funeral  will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 9 AM from THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY  FUNERAL HOME, 126  South Main St. (Route152)  Attleboro  followed  by a Mass of  Christian  Burial at  10 AM in St. Stephen’s  Church, 683  South Main St., Attleboro. Burial  with full Military honors will follow in  the family lot in St. Stephen’s  Cemetery.
