FALL RIVER – Joseph A. Santana, Jr., 40, of Fall River, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Born in Shirley, MA, the son of Heloise “Ellie” (Therrien) McCaffrey of Somerset, he was the stepson of Pete McCaffrey, also of Somerset.

Mr. Santana was a 1987 graduate of the Diman Regional Technical Vocational High School in Fall River. He then served his country with the United States Navy. Joe worked for Cardi’s Furniture as a furniture refinisher for sixteen years. His true passion was magic. He would do performances for children and was known as “Mr. Tricky.” He also enjoyed movies and comedy shows.

Survivors beside his mother and step father are two sisters, Rebecca L. Santana of Fall River and Shelley L. Torres of Somerset; a brother, Matthew M. Santana of Fall River; a nephew, Trevor Santana; and a niece, Jamie Torres.

Funeral Information

His funeral service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 8:00AM from THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Saint John of God Church, 996 Brayton Ave., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Mount Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI.
