FALL RIVER – John E. Sanson, 63, of Fall River, died Thursday, November 27, 2008, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in Fall River, the son of the late John and Mary (Ferreira) Sanson, he was the husband of Cathy (Chambers) Sanson, to whom he was married forty years. A graduate of BMC Durfee High School Class of 1963, Mr. Sanson served his country during the Viet Nam War with the United States Air Force. He then worked for UPS as a feeder driver for thirty-three years before retiring in 2001. He was a collector of Ho Scale model trains. A member of Third Baptist Church in Fall River, Mr. Sanson belonged to the Teamsters Local 653 in Brockton, the Fall River Rod & Gun Club, and CB radio club. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sanson is survived by three daughters, Joanne R. Ferguson of Adairsville, GA, Brenda L. Panaggio of Dartmouth, MA, and Mary J. Mello of Fall River; two sisters, Gloria Honneyman and Pauline Travis, both of Fall River, MA; six grandchildren, David, Rebecca, Andrew, Joshua, Sara, and Lacey. Funeral InformationHis funeral service will be held Monday, December 1, 2008, at 10:00AM in THE HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River. Calling hours with Video Photo Album will be held Sunday, November 30, from 3:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
