View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Truman L. Gathright, Senior Master Sgt., USAF., Ret., 86 years old, died at his home on Monday, August 6, 2007. Born in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, the son of the late Melvin and Willie (Lawson) Gathright, he was the husband of Maria (Heuser) Gathright of Taunton.
Mr. Gathright served in the U. S. Air Force for over twenty-five years, seeing action during the WWII, Korean and Viet Nam eras. He was serving at Pease AFB in New Hampshire when he retired in 1966. He was educated in Oklahoma schools. After his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Gathright worked for more than seventeen years at the Reed and Barton Corp. in Taunton as a mechanist.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gathright is survived by his daughter, Lilo Johnson-Smith of Leesburg, FL, and her husband Philip. He was the grandfather of Kristine Rocha and her husband Sean of Florida, Kelly Johnson-Smith, also of Forida, and Heidi Bonner and her husband Richard of Taunton. He was the great-grandfather of Kasey Rocha, and Hannah and Isaac Bonner. He was the brother of Dorothy Greer and the uncle of Sue Edwards and Tom Greer, all of Oklahoma.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to a attend a Memorial Service and Visiting Hours from 6:00-8:00PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in the CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton. An Interment Service will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA, on Thursday, August 16, 2007, at 11:30AM.
