View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Alice D. (Medeiros) Nobrega, 86, of Fall River died Monday, May 22, 2006 at home after a long illness. She was the wife of Alfred G. “Fred” Nobrega. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Carlos and the late Maria (Arruda) Medeiros, she was a lifelong resident of the city and communicant of Holy Name Church. Mrs. Nobrega was a seamstress for various area sewing shops as well as a sample maker for Better Dresses. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Alfred J. Nobrega of Fall River; two sisters, Juliette Perron of Tiverton, RI and Judith Medeiros of Fall River; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nobrega was the mother of the late Joseph Jeffrey Nobrega and sister of the late Joseph and John Medeiros, Elizabeth Haire and Margaret Silva.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be Friday, May 26, 2006 at 8:30 AM from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Name Church, Fall River. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
