Michael F. Hathaway

RAYNHAM – Michael F. Hathaway, 51, died in Tufts-New England Medical Center, Boston on Sunday, May 6, 2007, following a period of failing health. Born in Taunton, a son of the late Frank and Louise (Lopes) Hathaway, he was the husband of Christy (Shurtleff) Hathaway of Raynham.

Mr. Hathaway was educated in the Taunton Public Schools and was most recently employed for the past eight years as a dispatcher for AMTRAC, based in South Station in Boston. He had previously served as Vice President of LD Plastices in Brockton from 1980 to 1997.

He enjoyed camping and fishing , being an avid Red Sox fan, and coaching his son’s baseball and soccer teams.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Hathaway is survived by his children, Jennifer Hathaway of Fall River, Elizabeth Hathaway, Michael Hathaway and Andrew Hathaway all of Raynham. He was the brother of Francis Hathaway of Rehoboth and son-in-law of Joan Shurtleff and the late Eugene Shurtlleff of Taunton; and the grandfather of Jonathan, Isabell, Luis, Dylan and Austin; and brother-in-law and uncle of several.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 111 High Street, Taunton, on Friday, May 25, 2007, at 7:00PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
