View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SOMERSET – Edith M. (Madry) Cahoon, 87, of Kennedy Terrace in Somerset, died Monday, February 26, 2007, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, on September 21, 1919, the daughter of the late Edward E. and Elodia (Nordan) Madry, she was the wife of the late Harvey Cahoon.
Mrs. Cahoon worked as a waitress at Magoni’s Restaurant in Somerset for more than thirty years, before retiring in 1990. She enjoyed bird watching, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Mrs. Cahoon is survived by three daughters, Freida G. Boissonneault of Westport, Toni J. Silva of Fall River, and Dixie L. Tavares of Tiverton, RI; a son, Ronald S. Cahoon of Chestnut Ridge, NY; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Mildred Toffler and the late Edna Turner.
Funeral Information
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007, at 10:00AM in the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., SOMERSET. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery in Somerset. CALLING HOURS will be observed in the funeral home on THURSDAY from 4:00-7:00PM.
