Raoul G. L'Heureux

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Raoul G. L'Heureux, age 100, of Summer Street in New Bedford passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Sacred Heart Nursing Home in New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Judd) L'Heureux. Born in New Bedford on October 20, 1905, he was the son of the late Omer and Albina (Vigeant) L'Heureux.
Mr. L'Heureux worked as a weaver for the former Hoosac Mill in New Bedford for thirty two years before retiring many years ago. He was an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed puzzles and playing cards.
Survivors are three daughters Lorraine A. Nadeau-Leonard of New Bedford, Rita Allemao and her husband Manny of East Freetown, Simone E. Ferreira and her husband George of New Bedford, five sons Ralph A. L'Heureux and his wife Rachel of Fairhaven, Robert L'Heureux and his wife Sharon of California, Leo R. L'Heureux of California, Norman H. L'Heureux and his wife Susan of New Bedford Raymond L'Heureux and his wife Jeanne of California daughter in law Louise L'Heureux of Florida, thirty-eight grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren along with many niece and nephews.
He was the father of the late Emile “Skip” L'Heureux, and brother of the late Eva Grimm, Armand, Rene, and George L'Heureux.
Funeral Information
Mr. L'Heureux's funeral will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 7:45am from the Donaghy-Hathaway Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 9am in Saint John Neumann Church in 157 Middleboro Rd., (RT.18) East Freetown. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery New Bedford. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006 and Friday, July 21 from 4-7PM.
