In loving memory of Manuel E. Rebello, a longtime resident of Swansea and Taunton who passed away on June 7, 2017 at the Providence VA Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Manny was born on March 24, 1947 in Swansea to Manuel L. Rebello and Alexandria (Simoes) “ Lillian” Rebello. Manny was a graduate of Bristol County Agricultural High School in Dighton. After High School he served in the U S Army from 1968- 1974, including active duty in the Vietnam War. Manny belongs to the Veterans of Foreign War of the United States Post # 5392 in North Tiverton, RI. After honorable discharge from the military he obtained an Associate Degree in Marketing from Bristol Community College and the years following worked at the Brockton VA Medical Center as a fully licensed AC/Refrigeration Mechanic. Upon retirement from the VA he was employed as an RV Technician at several RV Centers in Southeastern Massachusetts. In full retirement since 2012 he has been very active in supporting his family in the home.
Manny was preceded in death by his parents Manuel L. Rebello and Alexadria “ Lillian” Rebello and his brothers David L. Rebello and William L. Rebello.
Manny is survived by his wife, Thea S. Pickering; son Eli C. Rebello; son Isaiah M. Rebello; brother James Rebello; sister Veronica D. Soares; sister Bertha J. Pontes; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home 350 Somerset Ave. Taunton. A private family burial service will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on June 13, 2017. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Grace Gospel Church in Somerset next month.
