FALL RIVER – Eileen P. (Mullen) Hardy, 95, of New Boston Road in Fall River, died on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at the Kimwell Nursing Home in Fall River. She was born in County Sligo, Ireland, a daughter of the late John Joseph Mullen & the late Katherine (Carty) Mullen, and was the former wife of Charles P. Hardy of Ormond Beach, Florida.

Mrs. Hardy was a sales clerk at the soda fountain for the Central Drug Store for over fifteen years before retiring thirty-three years ago. She resided in Fall River since 1952, coming from New York City and Ireland in 1930. She also lived for a time in Swansea. A parishioner of St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fall River, she was an active member of the Cathedral parish. She enjoyed sewing.

Mrs. Hardy is survived by a son, Charles B. Hardy of Taunton; a daughter, Rosemarie T. Cookson of Assonet; five grandchildren, Christine Hardy, Paula Hardy, Collette Bouchard, Gordon Hardy, and Patrick Cookson. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William G. Mullen, Charles J. Mullen, John P. Mullen, and Barbara Mullen. She was also the sister of the late religious sisters, Sr. Mary Dympna, Sr. Mary Philomena, and Sr. Mary Eithne.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2007, at 7:30PM in the HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River; burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00–8:00PM.
