Lindell J. "Cowboy" Hays

May 19, 1920 - March 16, 2006

Lindell J. "Cowboy" Hays., 85, of Narragansett Ave in Tiverton, RI passed away Thursday March 16, 2006 at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center in Fall River he was the husband of the late Juliette A. (Desrosiers) Hays. Mr. Hays was born in Okay, Oklahoma on May 19, 1920 the son of the late George and Ernestine (Watson) Hays.

He was a veteran of WWII with the United States Navy. He worked as a cook supervisor for the Newport Naval hospital for twenty seven years before retiring in 1990, also worked as a cook in the drive in part time for the Ponta del Gada Drive-in he was an active member of Four Hands Round Square Dance Club in Somerset & Swansea for many years.

Survivors are a daughter Patricia Fanning of Tiverton, RI and a brother Lawrence Hays of Muskogee, Oklahoma four grandchildren three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Armand Hays and grandfather of the late Katherine Fanning.

Funeral Information

His funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 10am in the Hebert-Hathaway Funeral Home, 945 S. Main St., Fall River, MA Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow with MILITARY HONORS in Newport Memorial Park Cemetery Middletown. Calling hours with a video photo album will be Monday, March 20, 2006 from 4-7pm.
