View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Robert J. “Bobby Tex” Teixeira, 69, of Taunton, died suddenly in the New England Medical Center in Boston Tuesday, January 22, 2008, following complications from heart surgery. Born in Boston, a son of the late John Teixeira and Alma (Fernandes) Amado, he was the husband of Sharon (Lima) of Taunton.
Raised in Carver and attending the Carver Public Schools, Mr. Teixeira was well known throughout his life for playing the drums at his family’s St. John’s festivals in Carver. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, who also enjoyed watching boxing matches on TV. For more than twenty years he was a heavy equipment operator for G. B. and Sons, Corp. in Raynham. He was especially fond of spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Teixeira is survived by a grandson, Daylon Teixeira of Taunton. He was the father of the late Dawn Teixeira, Kristie Lee Teixeira, and Joseph Teixeira. He was the brother of Diane “Peaches” Amado of Carver and Frank Teixeira of California, the step-son of the late Joseph Amado, and was the nephew and cousin of many. He was the brother of the late Joanne Amado, Rita Barber, Roger Amado, and Norman Amado.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in the Church at the Crossroads, 6 Main Street, Taunton on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton. Visiting hours will be held in the Church at the Crossroads on Monday from 4:00-8:00PM.
